Iqbal S. Hasnain

Dr Iqbal S. Hasnain is a member of the Board of Trustees, National University of Science and Technology, Muscat, Oman. He has also served as Vice-Chancellor, University of Calicut, Pro-Chancellor, Hamdard University, and as an adjunct professor in the Department of Geography, George Washington University, Washington DC. Dr Hasnain has previously held the positions of Senior Fellow on climate change and Himalayan glaciers at Stimson Center, Washington DC, and Professor of Glaciology at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi where he introduced glaciology as a subject at the postgraduate level. He has published several books and research papers in numerous peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Glaciology and the Journal of Hydrology. He was awarded the Padma Shri by the President of India for his contributions in advancing the science of glaciology in India.
