Dr Bijulal MV is Assistant Professor at the School of International Relations and Politics, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. Additionally, he is chairing the Institute for Multidisciplinary Programmes in Social Science, Centre for West Asian Studies, Centre for Migration Policy and Inclusive Governance, and the Nelson Mandela Chair for Afro-Asian Studies. He has published extensively on topics such as human rights, labour migration, gender studies, citizenship, development and displacement, and marginalisation and decolonisation. Dr Bijulal has around 14 years of experience in the fields of internal migration, housing rights, and advocacy for marginalised communities in Delhi. He is also the principal investigator of two major research projects: the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) project on the effect of social, institutional, and technological interventions on access to health among interstate migrant labourers in Kerala and the ICSSR project on livelihood challenges among inland women fisher workers in Kerala. He did a study on financial inclusion through the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Guarantee Scheme in Kerala.
